Nestled in the heart of Ilhabela, Praia do Itaguaçu is a stunning beach that stretches out from Mirante do Morro da Cruz and Pier do Perequê. This beach's name, derived from the Tupi language, translates to "big stone," likely referring to either the ancient stone at the viewpoint or the towering Pico do Baepi, accessible via a trail starting from the beach.
Visitors can enjoy the convenience of a kiosk on the sand and several restaurants in the area, as well as tour agencies and a bike path that runs along the beach. A small square with a lawn and playground is also located in front of the beach, providing an excellent spot for children's entertainment.
Praia do Itaguaçu is easily accessible, just 3.5 km from the northbound ferry and 3 km from Vila. It is situated between the beaches of Perequê and Itaquanduba, and ample parking spaces are available
