Latest reviews on Del Mar's beaches

Moonlight beach
1 Jonathan Roman

We drove over an hour to this beach late in the day. An aggressive Sheriff’s Officer kicked us out stating the beach was closed even though all posted signs and their website stated the beach could be used until 2am. Not worth the experience.

Solana beach

This beach is an ideal location to host events for cannabis enthusiasts and organize environmental initiatives to show our love for the planet.

Black's beach

This beach is amazing, but it's a bit risky to navigate the narrow and rocky path. It may not be accessible for handicapped people, and it's not a good place for dogs. However, for those who love hiking, this might be the perfect spot. The sunset in the parking lot is beautiful, but it's best to keep it low-key as the police patrol the area.

Swami's beach

This is a charming, small beach with minimal foot traffic. Although it's compact and partially rocky, it offers a serene atmosphere perfect for a relaxing visit. You can enjoy swimming here, and the views are quite lovely. While it may not be as large as other beaches, its tranquility and overall appeal make it a favorite of mine.

Fletcher Cove beach

This lovely little beach is a sight to behold. There's a tiny parking lot and ample street parking available, which is a rarity among other beaches. Even as the day wears on, parking is usually not an issue. The bathroom facilities are top-notch, complete with refreshing showers to rinse off the sand. Additionally, there's a charming, well-maintained lawn and a half-court basketball court for your enjoyment.

Torrey Pines beach
10 Dr. Elsie

If you arrive early, you can find free street parking near the beach. Alternatively, there is a parking lot available for $20 per car, or you can pay an annual state park parking fee. The annual parking pass is a great investment if you plan to visit the beach frequently, as it allows you to park for free at all state parks for the entire year. During low tide, the beach is a wide open space that is perfect for joggers, walkers, fishermen, and families looking to spend a day at the beach. The beach is well-maintained and clean, making it a great spot for a leisurely stroll. If you're feeling adventurous, it's about a 2-mile walk to Del Mar. The views from the beach are absolutely spectacular, and there are hiking trails that range from easy to moderate. This stretch of beaches is one of our favorites, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful and peaceful spot to relax.
