The stunning Dangaster Beach (Wadden Sea) can be found in Dangast, right on the Jade Bay, and is part of Varel in the Friesland district of Lower Saxony. This picturesque sandy beach boasts a well-maintained path. During the summer, the beach is supervised by the DLRG and has a beach service building resembling a ship, where you can find public toilets. Additionally, there are multiple showers available on the beach, as well as a designated area for dogs to enjoy. At low tide, it's a treat to explore the Wadden Sea, discovering a variety of fascinating small creatures and the salt marsh trail. For those interested in culture, the Dangast art trail showcases numerous sculptures. The World Heritage Portal is conveniently located right on the beach, housing tourist information, a souvenir shop, beach chair rentals, DanGastQuellbad, Watt'n Sauna, and a restaurant. A beach bar and bakery are also present. In the town center, you'll find small shops like a supermarket (EDEKA). The "Wattbuttjer" playground is situated near the DanGastQuellbad, just behind the dike, accessible by foot or bike via the dike hiking trail. Two campsites and a charming, quaint harbor with an excursion boat, cutter, fishing tower, and guest berths are also available. A webcam provides a panoramic view of the Wadden Sea, the beach, and Dangast town. This review reflects our personal experience.
