The Flamingo beach that once existed has disappeared due to the sea washing it away in 2018. This was caused by the removal of pebbles from the Ashe River for the construction of Olympic facilities. Now, all that remains are some small patches of beach among the stones and breakwaters, as well as a ruined embankment. Visitors to nearby hotels must travel a distance of approximately 1-1.5 km to reach neighboring beaches such as Dolphin and Svirsky or settle for visiting the ruins. The cafes on the embankment have been abandoned this year and the toilet is closed, leaving only one rusty changing cabin that is full of garbage. Photos taken in 2020 show the current state of the area.
