This beach is a popular spot among locals, with fantastic beach areas, great food, entertainment, and wonderful people. 😊
On a day marked with a purple flag indicating a jellyfish alert, the lifeguard kindly informed my son of the situation. Despite this, we still decided to proceed and ended up having a wonderful time. My son even made a new friend and they had a blast together. Although the beach could use some sprucing up, it was still quite nice. Additionally, there was a playground on site that we unfortunately didn't get a chance to use. As the night drew to a close, a police officer made an announcement that the beach would be closing soon. However, it was difficult to hear and we only understood because we happened to be walking in that direction. So if you see a cop at the end of the night, it's time to start packing up. Have a great time!
This charming public beach exudes a serene, secluded atmosphere. The gentle waves are noticeably more tranquil than those at VB, making it a delightful spot for observing boats and collecting shells. Perhaps it's pure serendipity, but I have never failed to spot a group of playful dolphins during each of my visits.
This beach park offers a sheltered picnic area and public restrooms for visitors to enjoy. Although it can become crowded during tourist season, the beach is vast enough to wander for miles in search of the perfect spot to soak up the sun and have fun. You may even spot small crabs scurrying about or catch a glimpse of a dolphin swimming in the distance. However, during the summer months, small jellyfish may wash up on shore, which is a common occurrence in many coastal areas. Unfortunately, algal blooms can occur under certain conditions, posing a danger to wildlife. Nevertheless, these blooms can create a breathtaking display of bioluminescent waves that are truly a sight to behold, especially at night.
The beach is quite spacious, with shallow waters that are ideal for children and plenty of secluded areas for privacy. However, the water may not be very clear and can be cold.
The shoreline is absolutely delightful and it's a tad less crowded than the typical tourist hotspots in Virginia Beach. However, there are limited options for disposing of garbage and I witnessed a near-miss incident where someone almost stepped on a concealed fish hook in the sand. Exercise caution while visiting and it's advisable to wear sandals or flip flops when traversing the beach.
