If you're seeking a quick beach escape from Bangkok, this is a solid option. Managed by the royal Thai Navy, the beach is well-maintained and boasts a variety of restaurants and beach activities. Lifeguards are also available for added safety. While there are no cottages, you can rent picnic mats or beach chairs. Additionally, the beach offers plenty of picturesque views that are perfect for Instagram. Keep in mind that weekends tend to be more crowded, so it's best to visit on a weekday if possible.
The beach is absolutely stunning and can be reached in just 15 minutes from the pier. The water is crystal clear and the sand is fine. The toilet facilities are clean and well-maintained. However, if you're looking for food options, you may be disappointed as the only available option on this side of the beach is dry noodles with hot water.
The island is quite pricey, with boat tickets costing 300 baht for Thai residents and 600 baht for foreigners. Additionally, the area you are allowed to explore is quite limited, as it is under the control of the Thai Royal Navy. Therefore, a visit of around 2 hours should suffice. However, there is a silver lining - while snorkeling, I was fortunate enough to spot a Nimo fish.
To access the beach, a fee is required and the available area is limited, resulting in a slightly congested environment. Additionally, the fact that it was a Sunday contributed to the heightened activity. Despite these factors, the beach is still worth exploring. If you prefer a more tranquil experience, it is advisable to visit on a weekday. Stay tuned for a forthcoming video on OurMan In Bangkok's YouTube channel. This pristine beach is a must-visit for those seeking a spotless coastline. However, be prepared for crowds during weekends and public holidays. Fortunately, parking and restroom facilities are available for convenience. The crystal-clear waters and powdery-white sand make for a perfect day under the sun, especially for families with children. For an extra thrill, try banana boating. Plenty of shade is also available under the trees for a relaxing break or a picnic. Nang Rong is located approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes from Bangkok and is similar to Nang Ram Beach, which is only a short 7-10 minute drive away. This is an ideal location for a day trip from Bangkok.
