This beach in Kiel is one of the best around. It's sandy and definitely worth a visit.
The bathing area is actually quite nice, especially with the addition of a new jetty this year. The playground is also very pleasant. There are plenty of parking spaces available as well. However, there is a downside due to the geese issue. Goose droppings are scattered everywhere, making it difficult to lay out a blanket and enjoy the meadow comfortably. Walking barefoot across the meadow is out of the question.
This beach may seem like a decent option for a family outing, but don't be fooled by the shiny surface. The sun may be shining, but the sand is gritty and uncomfortable. The sea is murky and uninviting, and the shore is littered with debris. To add insult to injury, the Olympics center looms ominously nearby, casting a shadow over the entire area. And if you're hoping to escape to a nearby park, you'll have to trudge 400 meters through the dusty, uninviting landscape to get there. All in all, this beach is a far cry from the idyllic getaway you might be hoping for.
This is the best beach I've experienced in Germany so far. The water is crystal clear and there's a great restaurant close by. The beach is peaceful and clean, with golden sand and some rocks. It can get a bit chilly from the wind, but there are beach chairs to shelter in. I really enjoyed my time here.
This beach may seem like a decent spot to stroll with your furry friend during the cooler months, but don't be fooled by its serene appearance. Come summertime, the regulations may change, and the tranquility you once enjoyed will be replaced with chaos. While it may appear lovely now, don't be surprised if you're met with a disappointing experience in the future.
