Khayelitsha - all beaches

This expansive and unobstructed shoreline is truly a sight to behold 😍. It's an ideal location to witness the beauty of the setting sun. However, locating a suitable parking spot can be somewhat challenging.

This beach seems to have been left untouched and may not be the safest place to spend your time. It's important to be cautious while you're here. Despite this, the scenery is breathtakingly beautiful and definitely worth taking in.

The beach is an exquisite sight, maintained impeccably by the local community. The pristine appearance of the beach is truly captivating. We participated in a Helping Hands initiative sponsored by The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints, and it was an enjoyable experience. Although there wasn't much to tidy up, we made sure to do our part.

The Strandfontein pavilion is a delightful destination to explore, particularly during the summer season. The highlight of this beach is its expansive tidal pool, which is considered the largest in the southern hemisphere. Along with being a blue flagged beach, it is also a popular spot for fishermen. From small to large families, everyone can be seen enjoying the beach's serene ambiance. However, it can get pretty crowded on any given day due to its popularity. Unfortunately, the beach has been neglected for years and requires some maintenance work as most parts have been vandalized. To make the most of your visit, it's best to arrive early in the morning when the beach is less crowded. Additionally, there is ample parking space available for your convenience.

The beach was clean, but it was pretty windy. It seemed to be quite welcoming to dogs, and I even saw a guy catch a decent-sized fish.

Mnandi beach is an excellent spot to spend time with loved ones. It's perfect for group walks in the morning, and exercising on the beach or in the parking lot is a great way to improve your physical and mental health. If you're in Mitchell's Plain, this is definitely worth a visit. However, it's important to exercise caution and avoid visiting at night, always staying in groups.
