Ponta do Ouro Beach

The beaches are absolutely stunning. The beach boys provide everything you could possibly need, from drinks to gazebo and chairs. It's unfortunate that there are no lifeguards provided by the government, as I witnessed three people nearly drowning during my time there. It's a major safety concern.

Sodwana Bay

We spent three wonderful days in Sodwana and were amazed by the stunning beach with its soft sand. You can either pay to enter the reserve or access the beach for free from a car park just before the reserve entrance. It's important to note that dogs are not allowed in the reserve or on the beach. However, we were disappointed to find that the free parking lot was in poor condition, covered in broken glass and litter. This was a stark contrast to the pristine cleanliness of the beach and reserve. Luckily, there are cafe and restroom facilities available on the beach, which were clean and well-stocked with toilet paper. There are also restrooms located near the reserve parking lot, although we did not use them.

Ponta Malongane

We had heard that this campsite was located away from the busy atmosphere of Ponta, and indeed, it was situated on a stunning beach. However, we were assigned a campsite at the opposite end of the dive center since our purpose of visit did not involve diving. The campsite we received was positioned next to some abandoned rondavels, nestled under magnificent trees that had a captivating beauty. Nonetheless, it seemed that the fallen leaves had not been cleared for quite some time, resulting in a damp and neglected ambiance. The restroom facilities were clean, but they were in desperate need of modernization. Overall, there was a prevailing sense of neglect, which was quite disheartening considering the potential of this place to be a remarkable camping spot if they put effort into tidying up and demolishing the old unused structures. Additionally, it is worth noting that the only means of access to this location is via a 4x4 vehicle.

Black Rock beach

We absolutely adore this destination ❤️💙, it's without a doubt the finest beach in all of RSA. For those who enjoy off-roading, there are fantastic 4x4 trails to put your SUV to the test. The Kosi Black Rock reserve has a limited capacity of approximately 20 vehicles, and the necessary permit can be obtained from the Kosi Ezemvelo office. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are always available to assist with suggestions for nearby beaches and activities, such as fishing, kayaking, forest walks, and snorkeling. For those who love snorkeling, Black Rock is the ideal spot, with a short hiking trail and rock climbing opportunities also available. A pristine restroom facility is conveniently located near the parking area. Families can't go wrong with a visit to Black Rock, as both young and old alike will adore this destination ❤️💙.
