To be honest, my expectations were not met by this beach despite hearing so much about it. It is located behind a closed resort due to Covid, which means parking is quite a distance away and the beach is not well-maintained and dirty. However, the sand near the water is soft and pleasant to walk on, which is a positive. Unfortunately, the rest of the beach is covered in leaves, which detracts from its beauty. The waves come right up to the sand, making it unsuitable for snorkeling, but it is perfect for kids to play in. The beach has a floating line that marks the swim area, which adds to the fun.
This beach is an ideal location for those seeking to indulge in long distance swims, snorkeling adventures, and picturesque sunset bonfires.
This beach is possibly the top spot for snorkeling. They have a security guard present until 5 pm to keep an eye on your car, but there are no lifeguards on duty. The swimming area is restricted by the reef, with only locals and divers equipped with special gear venturing beyond it. You can swim over the corals, and the water is always shallow enough for a 10-year-old to stand. Snorkeling here allows you to see most of the fish you'd find in Saipan, unless you're a diver. It's important to check the tide chart before heading out, as during low tide, it's challenging to swim without hitting the corals with your knees and belly. If you're looking for another snorkeling spot, Wing Beach is worth a visit, although it's a bit smaller than this beach.
The trek to this beach is certainly worth the effort, as it is one of the most outstanding attractions in Saipan. However, if you happen to have a physical limitation, such as an injury or advanced age, you may find it difficult to access this location.
West Coast is a restaurant that promises to offer a delightful culinary experience. The newly opened establishment boasts a stunning ambiance that overlooks the beach, making it an ideal location for a relaxing meal. Unfortunately, Google Maps doesn't allow me to add the restaurant to my current location. Nevertheless, I must say that the butter-garlic Mahi and Seafood Linguinne were exceptional, and my friends devoured their meals before I could even snap a picture. The prices are budget-friendly, and the staff informed us that there's a live band on Thursdays and Fridays. I highly recommend West Coast for a memorable dining experience.
