A local from Nonza gave us directions to the beach by car, as we were feeling a bit hesitant about the 640 steps. With the village behind us, we drove for about 2 kilometers and passed by the house-burials until we reached a gate that restricts the height of vehicles (motorhomes are not welcome). We then followed the winding road for another two kilometers and arrived at two black pebble beaches. Don't forget to bring your snorkeling gear as the water is crystal clear and the fish are quite friendly!

There are two ways to reach the beach - one is through the village of Nonza, but it involves descending 450 steps. The other option is to take the road towards Canari for around 3 km and park in the large car park on the left. The car park has red and white barriers to restrict access for vehicles over 2 meters high. From there, a road leads directly to the beach, and a short walk will take you to Nonza beach, which promises to be an unforgettable experience.

The beach is really lovely, with a newly paved path leading down to it. It's worth noting that vehicles over 2 meters high are not permitted all the way down to the beach. It's important to keep the beach clean, but fortunately there are garbage cans available for use.

The black pebble beach is quite lovely, but there are a lot of jellyfish in the water that can be painful. It's advisable to wear diving goggles when going into the water. Parking is free and conveniently located nearby, but don't forget to bring shoes as the stones can get very hot in the sun. It's important to keep the area clean, and there are garbage containers available at the front barrier.

This small cove, located near the larger beach below Nonza, boasts unique black stones that are characteristic of the area's beaches. Although there is a sign warning of strong currents, the sea was calm during my visit and I had no issues. However, I was concerned to learn that the beach may contain asbestos due to nearby quarries. Despite this, the water is clean and clear, and the seabed is teeming with fish. While I'm unsure if I'll return due to the asbestos scare, the beach's beauty is undeniable.
