Kappeln beach

I brought along some stones to paint, and it's advised to wear water shoes. However, it's incredibly peaceful, especially if you have a dog, as it's not too crowded.

The beach section is part of Schönhagen and offers various amenities such as designated areas for dogs, nudists, a boat beach, and beach chairs. Swimming is easily accessible, and there are convenient fresh water showers for rinsing off the salt. Additionally, there is a designated area for children and young people to enjoy playing volleyball. For those in need of a rest, benches are available. Parking spaces and a public toilet are provided for visitors' convenience. The beach and its facilities require a visitor's tax of €2.00 per day, with a reduced rate of €0.50 for children.

The beach stretches for approximately 100 meters and is located about 650 meters away from the toilets, beach bars, and other amenities. It is a clean sandy beach with a few stones and a gradual slope into the water. At the beginning of the beach, there is a dispenser for dog bags. Please note that this dog beach has an admission fee, and you can purchase tickets at the entrance to Schönhagen. Some drawbacks include the absence of a dog bar and dog showers to rinse off sand and saltwater. Additionally, there are no beach chairs available, and it is situated near the nudist area. However, to the north, there is a free and unrestricted dog beach with practically no further disadvantages. It is important to remember that leashes are mandatory along the entire promenade. Overall, this is considered one of the better dog beaches along the Baltic Sea.

At the very end once more, there are no beach chairs available, but there is a shower and a restroom facility. The closest snack bar is approximately 500 meters away. There are noticeably more stones compared to a typical beach. Unfortunately, a day ticket is necessary to access this beach, which is quite disappointing.

This was our second visit to this dog-friendly beach, and we thoroughly enjoyed spending time with our furry friends. The presence of stones in the sand didn't bother us at all. The beach's spaciousness is perfect for allowing our dogs to freely run around. However, it is unfortunate that the fish stall and similar amenities are quite far from here. On a positive note, we had no trouble parking our camper in the designated parking lot.
