The creek is pleasant, but it is filled with dry algae and getting to the water is challenging due to the difficult access and the poor condition of the dirt road. Unfortunately, Pylos does not have any sandy beaches nearby for those who prefer not to drive. This particular port, which the Municipality has neglected, is the closest option. It's worth noting that the small concrete pier, which used to be the only place to swim in the city, has been destroyed by the waves. The Municipality of Pylos definitely has a lot of work to do if they are interested in improving the situation.

We visited a fantastic, serene pebble cove this morning. It's perfect for snorkeling and exploring underwater with a mask. However, it's important to note that attempting to drive down to the beach is not recommended due to the challenging track and lack of parking at the bottom. Instead, it's best to park at the beginning of the track and enjoy a pleasant ten-minute walk.

The beach behind Pylos Castle is a small, secluded, and untouched gem. It can be easily reached by taking the road between the town health center and the primary school, followed by a short dirt road. Keep in mind that the beach is covered in stones, so take that into consideration before planning a visit.
