Aglyftis Beach is a hidden gem located on the South West Side of Elafonisos Island. And by hidden, I mean good luck finding it without a boat or a good pair of hiking shoes. There's no road that leads to this paradise, you have to climb a rocky mountain like a real adventurer. But don't worry, if you're feeling lazy, you can always hop on a boat and enjoy the scenic route. Just make sure to check the wind forecast before you embark on this journey, you don't want to end up like a lost sailor. Once you arrive, you'll be rewarded with a stunning view of the Aglyftis island and a peaceful canal that will make you forget about the real world. Just be prepared to have the beach all to yourself, unless you come during high season and have to share this piece of heaven with other humans.

On our recent visit to Elafonisos, we embarked on a short 1 hour and 15 minute excursion to the final beach on our itinerary. Although the journey was challenging, the stunning panoramic views along the way made it all worthwhile. We passed by two charming miniature churches before reaching a larger one that was open for visitors. Upon reaching the beach, we found a table with an umbrella and benches, but I suggest bringing your own separate umbrella for optimal shade. The beach is perfect for snorkelers and selfie enthusiasts alike, with plenty of opportunities to capture the crystal-clear waters and picturesque surroundings. Overall, Elafonisos is a truly magnificent island with breathtaking beaches that are definitely worth the effort to explore.
