Six years ago, I stumbled upon this hidden gem of a beach and it has become a staple of my island vacations ever since. The natural shade from the surrounding trees, absence of music, and tranquil sounds of nature create an irresistible allure to this location. The lack of waves and low tourist traffic make it a perfect spot for families, allowing parents to relax on the loungers while their children safely play in the water. Speaking of the water, it is always warm, crystal clear, and inviting.
In my personal experience, I have even tied up a hammock between two of the trees and enjoyed moments of pure relaxation. The beach and hotel are managed by Yorgo, an 81-year-old Greek from Komotoni who spends his winters in Germany. He may come off as grumpy and hard to please, but he works tirelessly to ensure the beach is well-maintained.
The entrance fee of 5 euros per adult is a small price to pay for the use of unlimited sunbeds, as there are never too many tourists to compete with. The small bar on the ground floor of the hotel offers limited drinks and snacks at slightly higher prices, but I recommend bringing your own refreshments in a cooler. Trust me, Yorgo won't mind.
Although some may suggest a renovation to improve the beach, I believe it would ruin its natural charm. The turquoise water, peaceful ambiance, and shade from the old pines make this beach worth every penny. In fact, I have had some of my most relaxing moments here.
If Yorgo happens to read this, I would like to extend my greetings and wish him good health. Keep up the great work, but watch your back!
