The beach can be easily reached by following the winding streets in the Portobello area from SP90. After parking in the large paid car park, which is supervised by a caretaker, it's just a short walk of around one hundred meters to reach the sea.
The beach is situated in an ideal location that provides excellent protection from the northwest wind. Although not very wide, it is quite long, and the sand is coarse and pebbly. However, it can be a bit challenging to plant an umbrella as the sandy layer seems thin, and the substrate is quite hard.
The sea is stunning with its fantastic colors, but it can be difficult to access due to the presence of numerous boulders in the water, which are full of sea urchins. The water is not deep enough for swimming, and it can be hazardous to cross while walking, so it's best to wear beach shoes. The central part of the beach is relatively crowded, while the left side is entirely covered in posidonia. However, the right side may be better for bathing.
If you take a longer walk, you can reach the charming San Silverio church, which is full of interesting descriptions about its origins. It's a shame that there isn't a kiosk or bar on the beach, but it's understandable as it's not a popular spot for businesses to invest in, apart from the car park keeper.
