Achensee Camping

The campsite was absolutely incredible. It had a stunning location right by the lake, the staff was extremely friendly, and the facilities were top-notch. I couldn't find a single thing to complain about.

The beach has a pleasant atmosphere right by the lake. However, I have to deduct points for the bathrooms. Despite being newly constructed, they were poorly designed. The rubber pads serve no purpose and it would be more hygienic to remove them. The showers are extremely cramped and the curtain constantly sticks to you in the tight space. If I have to pay for a shower, I would appreciate more room, both for storing items near the sink and within the cabin itself. The toilets need to fix the unstable cutting board that shifts when you lean on it. I also deduct points for the limited space available for tents. You end up being right next to another tent, and oftentimes you have to cross someone else's area to reach your own tent. It would be great if they could create steps or paths from the main road leading down to the waterfront spots. Additionally, better lighting, at least along the main road, would be helpful. There are very few parking spaces available. If you go for a drive and explore the surrounding areas by car, it's difficult to find parking in the evening. Considering the number of visitors, they should consider increasing the parking capacity.

The campsite is really lovely and offers a stunning view! They have a restaurant on site that serves simple food, but it would be nice if they had more healthy options. I wasn't a fan of the prepaid shower system where you have to pay 50 cents for 5 minutes of hot water. The machine is located outside the shower cabin, and no matter what coin you use, the display always shows 1. I'm not sure what it means. Despite that, it's a fantastic location and the ideal spot to relax and rejuvenate.

The location of this beach is perfect, situated right in the middle of two coasts of the lake. It appears to be the greenest campsite in the area due to the abundance of trees. My friend and I, along with our car and small tent, paid 34.50€ for our stay, which was a bit pricey considering that hot water in the shower required an additional fee of 0.5€ for 5 minutes. Moreover, there is no communal kitchen area or similar amenities. However, there are plenty of sinks with drinkable water available. The WC and showers are separate for men and women, and there is also a laundry service available for an extra charge. Additionally, there is a bar/restaurant located on the lake coast with an amazing view, although the prices are quite high. The area, including the showers and WC, is clean, tidy, and peaceful, making it suitable for families and pets. The tent pitches are a bit small, but they are located right by the lake and offer shade. It's important to note that this beach is a bit far from the shops and Maurach center, but it shouldn't be an issue if you have a car or bicycle.

The camping site offers stunning views and provides a peaceful atmosphere by the lake, where you can engage in various activities. At Achensee camping, you can enjoy convenient amenities such as electricity for your tent, paddleboarding, hot showers, and the option to rent sailing boats (although temporarily unavailable). Free wifi is available near the reception area, while other parts of the campsite do not have wifi access. The rental fee for your camping spot includes access to restroom facilities. Additionally, there is a restaurant on-site.
