If you're seeking respite from the glitz and glamour of casinos and malls, a visit to this beach may be just what you need. While it may not be the most spectacular of its kind, it offers a pleasant change of pace and a chance to soak up some sun and sea. However, it is important to note that the heat and humidity can be intense, so be sure to come prepared with plenty of water and sunscreen.

9 Excellent

Ah, my personal paradise for escaping the mundane routine and soaking up the glorious sun rays. Although it may be petite in size, this beach trumps Hac Sa any day. Conveniently reached by bus and a quick jaunt downhill, parking is also at your disposal. And let's not forget the added bonus of an Italian eatery and cozy café right on the premises. Who needs a tropical getaway when you have this little slice of heaven?

Cheok Van Beach provided a much-needed respite from the hustle and bustle of Macau city. During my visit in the mid-90s, the only casino in sight was the Floating place, and the enclave still bore the distinct Portuguese influence. My stay at the East Asia Hotel, which exuded an air of antiquity, truly immersed me in the Oriental experience. Despite the hot and humid weather, the picturesque beach with its crystal-clear waters and soft sand made it all worth it.
