6 Pleasant

The last time I went to Playa Sucia was around 10 years ago. It was absolutely stunning, with pristine white sand and calm, crystal clear water. To get to the parking area closest to the beach, it's best to drive in an SUV or truck with high clearance, as the unpaved road is very rough. However, we did see a few smaller cars braving the adventurous and bumpy journey. Sadly, we decided not to stay because there was a significant amount of seaweed washed up between us and the water. At certain points, the seaweed appeared to be 2-3 feet tall and 6 feet wide. Regrettably, there was only one other family walking along the beach. I really hope this is just a temporary situation and that I'll be able to enjoy Playa Sucia again in the future.

4 Frustrating

The road leading to the beach is filled with potholes, but it is still passable as long as you drive slowly. Unfortunately, the beach itself is not very enjoyable due to the excessive amount of seaweed. The landscape, however, would have been incredibly beautiful if it weren't for the seaweed. Although there are hiking opportunities nearby, our main purpose for coming was to relax on the beach. If you have the same intention, I would recommend going somewhere else for now.

The beach is absolutely stunning, with incredibly scenic hiking trails situated close by. The views are truly breathtaking. Although there is a fair amount of seaweed present, there are still lovely areas in the water to enjoy. The parking is a bit of a walk away, and unfortunately, there are no restroom facilities or amenities available for purchase.

Playa Sucia is truly one of the most stunning spots in Puerto Rico. We made a three-hour drive just to witness the breathtaking natural bridge and cliffs, and let me tell you, it was completely worth it. Out of all the beaches we've visited in this area, Playa Sucia stood out with its incredibly beautiful white sand. It's conveniently located about a 30-minute easy walk from the parking area. If you venture beyond the beach on one of the trails, you'll be treated to a magnificent view of the cliffs. Just a friendly reminder, it's advisable to wear sneakers as the area near the edge of the cliffs can be quite unstable, so it's best to stay a bit back. I wholeheartedly recommend this beach, as it truly is absolutely stunning.

Hiking in this area is enjoyable. It takes approximately 20-25 minutes to walk from the parking area to the beach. Remember to bring plenty of water to stay hydrated! There are no vendors available, so make sure to take all of your trash with you.
