Beautiful bay with an amazing beach. Be sure to visit Freddy's restaurant, whether for a meal or just drinks. However, be cautious of the bats that are active throughout the night. They might enter your boat and create a mess, so it's best to keep everything closed or covered with a towel or similar protection.

2 Very poor

Avoid Salt Whistle Bay at all costs. We've visited before, but our stay on September 25th was the worst experience we've had. Aware of the poor anchoring conditions, we paid a boat boy named "Alex" (in a blue boat) 60 EC for a mooring. However, the next day, Park Rangers approached us for mooring fees, revealing that Alex had deceived us. The Park Rangers are now searching for Alex, but that's not the main issue. The real problem was the incessant, extremely loud reggae music—definitely not the pleasant kind—blaring from one of the beach shacks all day and night. It was so unbearable that no one from the yachts dared to go ashore. Salt Whistle Bay has lost its charm for us. There's no reason to return, as it offers nothing of interest anymore.

4 Frustrating

Like many visitors, we arrived by sailboat. As long-term cruisers who work remotely, we need constant connectivity. While ashore, I was using my own data plan under one of their shelters when a very agitated staff member rudely told me to leave. "You cannot use our facilities without patronizing our bar," they said. I replied, "I am happy to patronize your bar," to which they responded, "That doesn't mean just buying a beer." At the time, there wasn't much else to purchase since they weren't serving food during our stay. I didn't argue, apologized, and returned to my boat to finish my workday, deciding never to spend a penny at this bar. Many places understand the needs of cruising sailors like us and do their best to accommodate. If we can't connect, we can't work, and if we can't work, we can't visit your island. It's that simple. Hopefully, this place will come to understand that, but I won't be back to find out.

It's decent overall. Just be ready for the boat boys, as expected. Our mooring spot was quite secure, but the nearby anchored boats made things a bit uneasy. The rolling motion caught us off guard. Moving further into the bay should help reduce it.
