This spot is a tranquil paradise, with its dark sand and serene atmosphere. There are two nearby bars with reasonable prices, and plenty of spots to take a stroll and take in the sights. It's the perfect place to relax and unwind.

The beach may look pretty, but swimming here is a risky endeavour. The black sand is full of hazardous heavy metals such as lead, arsenic and zinc, which were dumped here by the Pearroya Mining and Metallurgical Company between 1957-1990, resulting in a major ecological catastrophe.

I have given this beach three stars, but the beauty of the place and the view of the sea from the beach are simply amazing. Plus, there are some nice chiringuitos on the beach. However, it is hard to ignore the terrible environmental history of Portman. Although they claim the water is safe, one can't help but wonder. Work is being done, but much more money needs to be invested to begin to reverse the damage of the past decades. Additionally, the beach is easily accessible, making it a great spot to visit.

This location is peaceful and serene, with its black sand making a striking contrast. The bar there serves delicious food, mostly made from freshly caught seafood.

One of my favourite places in Spain, it's a beautiful sheltered cove with brown sand and crystal-clear water for swimming. There's a couple of great beach bars, but parking can be a bit of a hassle during the summer months. All in all, it's a fabulous place!
