The beach is excellent, possibly the top one in Fortaleza. However, it's important to be cautious of criminal activity. There is a high presence of pickpockets, muggings, and armed robberies. It's safe as long as you only come for a swim and to bask in the sun without carrying anything in your hands or pockets. Just bring your hotel key and nothing more.

As a tourist, it's crucial to exercise caution when visiting this beach, as you may attract attention and encounter a group of boys from the nearby run-down neighborhood who target tourists or anyone displaying valuable items like phones or expensive accessories. These individuals are armed with knives and have been known to assault people right on the beach, with bystanders often hesitant to intervene due to fear of retaliation. It is advisable to either avoid this beach altogether or be prepared to assume the associated risks.

The beach is pleasant, but it's important to be cautious about potential, although unlikely, thefts. Don't be deceived by the frequent winds (especially from August to October) or even days with some clouds: the sun is deceptive and can cause severe burns. Make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen.
