The Pedra do Sal beach in Parnaíba, on the coast of Piauí, is nothing but a failed attempt at revitalizing a once beautiful paradise. The so-called project that was supposed to bring life back to the beach has only resulted in the construction of a mediocre hotel called Hotel das Pedras, owned by small-time entrepreneurs Ataliba and Vânia Ribeiro. The hotel has become a popular spot for tourists and surfers from Piauí and the Northeast, but it's nothing to write home about. Ataliba, a banker, and a self-proclaimed surfer, claims to have led the first movements of surfers from Piauí to this beach, but in reality, he has only contributed to the destruction of the beach.
