The beaches in Avsallar are divided by piers that stick out into different sections, depending on which hotel they belong to. This means that you can't walk directly along the sandy coastline as there isn't a continuous strip of sand. However, during the last three days of my vacation, when the wind blew from the sea, the advantage of this beach setup became clear. The piers and protruding stone formations, about a hundred meters from the shore, effectively broke the strong waves caused by the bad weather, making it safe for swimming. Even with the red and yellow flags of the coastal rescue service, tourists didn't experience much discomfort and happily enjoyed riding the waves. There was one spot, to the right of the Sun Life hotel (when facing Akdeniz), where the waves reached the stone pier in a narrow area, creating a captivating sight of the elements, albeit in a milder form!
