Incredible. This place is a parking lot. They must be up to something questionable to receive a blue flag distinction. How did they manage to obtain it despite all the hydrocarbons seeping into the sand? It's also quite risky for kids. Once more, truly unbelievable!

Amazing golden sand and plenty to discover as you venture deeper into the sand dunes. Linked to the town by a delightful seaside trail. Perfect for refreshing your thoughts.

Gorgeous shoreline, pristine ocean, what's not to adore? We were incredibly fortunate to experience it during a delightful early summer heatwave.

Based on Google Maps, the distance from the southern tip to the pier at the entrance of the River Bann is approximately 2 miles. The stroll is pleasant at any time, except during high tide when you may need to navigate closer to the dunes on the soft sand. It would be nice to have a wooden pathway on the dunes instead of just partially covered tractor tracks surrounded by tall grass. This area is perfect for a refreshing swim with enjoyable waves.

Managed by the National Trust. Accessible to vehicles on the shore. Complimentary for National Trust members, fees are applicable otherwise. A tractor is occasionally on hand to assist stranded vehicles, although I cannot confirm if there is a fee as I have never experienced being stuck. Exceptionally well-maintained and cared for. Undoubtedly one of the finest beaches in Northern Ireland, if not the entire UK. Pristine, expansive, and lengthy expanse of golden beaches. Stunning vistas regardless of the weather. Ideal for leisurely strolls, whether on the beach or among the dunes leading to the river Bann. The scenery is breathtaking on both sides or within the dunes. Suitable for swimming, surfing, and bodyboarding (subject to weather conditions). Towards the end of the beach, there is a designated area for jet skis and similar activities. Dog-friendly, with a separate area further along the beach for off-leash runs. A fantastic restaurant and bar, Harry's Shack, located at the beginning of the beach, offering both indoor and outdoor seating options. The beach can get extremely crowded on sunny days. A visit is highly recommended.
