Latest reviews on Sao Nikolau island's beaches

Baixo Rocha
8 Kellan Asher

The solitary white beach on Sao Nicolau is a must-visit. The water is perfect for a refreshing swim, but it's advisable not to venture too far out. You'll have the entire beach to yourself most of the time, ensuring complete seclusion. Although the road leading to the beach from Tarrafal is in poor condition, it's still accessible with a four-wheel drive. The ten-kilometer trek is worth it for the unparalleled privacy and stunning scenery.

This beach is absolutely amazing and the best part is that it's open to the public for free! Although it may take some effort to get there, it's definitely worth it. You can either take a 5-hour hike or a 1 hour and 30 minute ride in a 4x4 off-road vehicle. But trust me, the stunning views and crystal-clear waters make it all worth the trip.

Lovely neighborhood pub. Ideal spot to enjoy a refreshing beer and observe the local guys shooting pool. Fantastic shoreline with plenty of activity, particularly during the afternoons and weekends.
