Latest reviews on Rhine-Westphalia's beaches

Otto-Maigler-See Beach

The lake is incredibly beautiful and features a sandy beach, a bar, and some delightful food stalls. However, the main beach requires a rather steep entrance fee of 6€ per person (plus an additional 3€ for parking), which seems quite excessive. On the bright side, if you don't mind skipping the bars, you can easily access the lake for free by strolling to one of the numerous charming little bays along the shoreline.

Winter Wonderland was absolutely stunning! The high ropes course provided a great deal of enjoyment. However, it would be helpful if the entrance was more clearly marked. We were unsure that we needed to use the beach entrance.

Eisklang am Salitos Beach

Absolutely terrible and a complete rip-off! I strongly advise against coming here. They charge 5 euros just for sitting on the beach with nothing included, and if you want a beach chair, which would normally cost 5 euros, it costs 20 euros per person! While the place itself is nice, they are just out to take your money. Avoid this place at all costs! I'm extremely frustrated with these outrageous prices 😡😡😡

Seebad Haltern beach

The beach is a good alternative for those who want to avoid crowded outdoor pools, but the €7 entrance fee seems a bit expensive for a quarry pond, especially considering that the showers are not free (except for the outdoor one). Besides a few trees that offer shade, the only option usually available is to rent a beach chair. However, I don't understand why you can purchase the ticket online but not the basket. So, there is definitely room for improvement.

The venue is absolutely stunning, making it an ideal choice for weddings, relaxation, enjoying a cup of tea or coffee, sipping on a beer, and of course, taking a refreshing swim. The staff is incredibly enjoyable and friendly.
