Latest reviews on Megalochori's beaches

Chalikiada Beach

The beach is absolutely stunning, although it can be a bit challenging to get to. It's important to note that it may not be suitable for children due to the difficulty of the path. Additionally, it's worth mentioning that some people choose to go nude while others remain clothed, so it's entirely up to personal preference. Regardless, the water is truly incredible.

This stunning beach with breathtaking views and crystal clear waters, making it an absolute must-visit destination on the island. For just 10 euros, you can enjoy two comfortable sunbeds and an umbrella, although the cantina is self-service if you fancy a refreshment. Although some may find this odd, it didn't detract from my enjoyment of this idyllic spot.

This beach has a pristine shoreline with crystal-clear waters that are shallow enough for a refreshing dip. As you wade into the sea, a school of fish will swim around your feet, creating a magical experience. I decided to rent a chair for a mere €6 and spent a delightful afternoon soaking up the sun and enjoying the serene surroundings.

Turquoise waters and animals in their natural habitat create a unique atmosphere just a breath away from Athens. We reached the small island on a private boat, but there is also a frequent public boat taxi from Aegina (Egina). There is a beach bar offering a limited number of lounge chairs and umbrellas, but plenty of natural shade can be found under the trees, along with changing rooms and showers. The only downside is the lack of an actual beach; access to the water is via points between rocks and stairs leading down from the bar, making it less suitable for very young children and people with mobility restrictions.

This place was even better than we expected. Despite reading some negative reviews that called it a rip off with no water access, we were hesitant to go. However, we were thrilled that we did! The cost to get to the island and everything included was extremely reasonable - only 5€ per person for a package that included a bed, umbrella, chair, and table. There were so many of these packages that even though the beach seemed crowded, we still found a great spot. The staff was incredibly friendly and provided food and drinks right to our bed. To top it off, the beach was home to some cute goats, roosters, and peacocks wandering around. Overall, it was a fantastic day on the beach that we won't forget.
