Latest reviews on Irakleia island's beaches

Livadi beach
10 Nikos Antonopoulos.

This beach located in the small cyclades is truly exceptional! Its shallow turquoise waters and fine sand make it one of the most beautiful beaches in the area. The serene atmosphere and picturesque scenery make it a must-visit destination for those seeking a peaceful and relaxing getaway. The crystal-clear waters are perfect for swimming and snorkeling, while the soft sand is ideal for sunbathing and building sandcastles. Overall, this beach is a true gem and a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of the Cyclades.

Alimia beach
8 Velinora Zelina

This beach is a hidden gem, only reachable by boat or through a challenging path. During our two-hour stay, we were captivated by the stunning scenery and crystal-clear waters. It's recommended to bring your own provisions as there are no facilities available.

Karbounólakos beach
10 Koukoulonidas Matistis

The water at the beach was crystal clear, but that was the only redeeming quality. The sand was gritty and uncomfortable to walk on, and the sun was scorching hot with no shade in sight. The beach was overcrowded with loud and obnoxious tourists, making it impossible to find a peaceful spot to relax. Overall, the beach was a disappointing and unpleasant experience.

The beach is completely secluded and can be reached by following a well-marked 35-minute trail (trail 8) from the center of Agios Georgios. It is relatively easy to navigate. The sea is exceptionally clear and has stunning colors. The seabed gradually turns sandy just a few meters from the shore, making it perfect for swimming and snorkeling when the water is calm. There are also some caves nearby that can be accessed with a bit of effort. Although the beach is not in perfect condition and there is some litter, there are large bins where much of the rubbish has been collected, and hopefully, it will be removed soon.

This sandy beach is truly one of the best around, offering ample shade from the tamarisk trees that dot the shoreline. Whether you're looking to soak up the sun or simply relax in the shade, this beach has something for everyone. So why not pack your bags and head on down to this idyllic seaside paradise today? You won't be disappointed!
