The vast sandy beach is a popular destination for families with children, although it can get quite crowded at times. While it may not be the most visually stunning beach on the island, beauty is subjective and varies from person to person. However, the lack of necessary infrastructure for such a large central beach is a definite drawback. The limited parking and absence of showers are disappointing, but the complete absence of public toilets is a major issue. Despite walking back and forth along the beach and even searching online, no public toilets were found. Inquiries with beach workers revealed that the only option was to use the restrooms at nearby bars. This lack of basic facilities is a serious concern, particularly for families with young children who may struggle to manage such a situation. Adequate public toilets and a few showers are essential components of basic beach infrastructure.
The hidden gem of Elba's beaches is undoubtedly this charming, family-run paradise. I have visited this idyllic spot numerous times and have yet to be disappointed. The warmth and hospitality of the owners are truly remarkable and create an unforgettable stay. This beach is not overrun with tourists, making it a peaceful and serene escape. The prices are reasonable, and the pier is the perfect spot to soak up the sun and take a dip in the crystal-clear waters. The family's presence adds an extra layer of authenticity and charm to the entire experience. I am certain that I will return to this magical place time and time again.
During my visit on August 30th, 2022, the beach was pleasantly uncrowded and I did not encounter any sections that were claimed by private individuals, contrary to what other reviews had mentioned. The beach was entirely open and had a sparse number of visitors. The water was stunning, although not quite on par with other nearby beaches, particularly Crocetta beach.
