El Cochorit beach

Upon my recent arrival to "Playa el Cochorit" in Empalme, Sonora, I was pleasantly surprised by the beauty of this beach. Having visited numerous beaches in my lifetime, I can confidently say that this one stands out from the rest. It's the perfect spot to spend a weekend with friends or family, or even just a day of the week. One thing to note is that there is only one tree on the entire beach, which can make it a bit crowded as people tend to gather around it. However, I personally don't mind sharing my space with others and enjoy meeting new people. During my visit, my friends and I found a cozy "Palapa" near the beach and settled down on a rock. We brought along some alcoholic drinks and a bag of tots, and spent a lovely afternoon enjoying the company of others. The atmosphere was lively, with many people playing music and enjoying some cold beers. On the other side of the beach, there was a family with young children who were also enjoying the sun and sea. It was heartwarming to see people of all ages and backgrounds coming together to enjoy this beautiful place. Overall, I highly recommend "Playa el Cochorit" for anyone looking for a fun and relaxing beach experience.

This beach is a fantastic spot for exercising and having a picnic. If you plan on heading down to the beach, make sure to wear sturdy walking shoes. However, it's not advisable for older individuals to venture down to the beach due to the abundance of stones and slippery steps.

El carricito beach

The only downside is that the parking lot shuts down at 6pm.

This place is excellent, with stunning water colors and manta rays 😍. There are multiple ways to access it, whether by water, the hill, or both ends, and each route is fascinating. The surroundings offer incredible spots and a wide variety of animal and plant species, along with breathtaking landscapes. It is definitely worth visiting and even bringing several bags of garbage to clean up, as unfortunately, it is quite littered. Despite the presence of two garbage cans, the vastness of the open sea brings in a lot of garbage after high tide. In the photos, you will see a huge banner that we retrieved from the sea. Nevertheless, the place is still amazing.
