Maputo - all beaches

The beaches are absolutely stunning. The beach boys provide everything you could possibly need, from drinks to gazebo and chairs. It's unfortunate that there are no lifeguards provided by the government, as I witnessed three people nearly drowning during my time there. It's a major safety concern.

This beach lodge is one of my all-time favorites. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the location is stunning. Each room is perched on a hillside with a breathtaking view of the ocean. I loved watching the sunset every evening from our porch. The food was also fantastic! We will definitely return!

We had heard that this campsite was located away from the busy atmosphere of Ponta, and indeed, it was situated on a stunning beach. However, we were assigned a campsite at the opposite end of the dive center since our purpose of visit did not involve diving. The campsite we received was positioned next to some abandoned rondavels, nestled under magnificent trees that had a captivating beauty. Nonetheless, it seemed that the fallen leaves had not been cleared for quite some time, resulting in a damp and neglected ambiance. The restroom facilities were clean, but they were in desperate need of modernization. Overall, there was a prevailing sense of neglect, which was quite disheartening considering the potential of this place to be a remarkable camping spot if they put effort into tidying up and demolishing the old unused structures. Additionally, it is worth noting that the only means of access to this location is via a 4x4 vehicle.

We stayed in house number 19, which had a delightful arrangement. The only minor issues we encountered were the absence of a remote for the air conditioning in our room (we had to use the one from the neighboring room) and the fact that the staff utilized the guest bathroom in the main area for laundry and storing cleaning supplies. This made it somewhat inconvenient when we were all socializing in the main area and the kids were asleep in the rooms, as we didn't have immediate access to a toilet. Nonetheless, the rooms were stunning and offered a lovely view of the sea.

This beach is undeniably charming, but regrettably, litter and shards of glass can be spotted scattered throughout the sand. It's essential to be mindful of your surroundings when strolling barefoot. On the plus side, the water is pleasantly warm, but if you're not an adept swimmer, it can pose a risk.
