The beach was a fantastic spot for freedom camping, with the soothing sounds of the ocean. It was also a pet-friendly location, and there was plenty of park space for recreational activities or enjoying a picnic. However, during our visit, the water conditions were too rough for swimming.
This beach is definitely worth the drive if you're staying in the Napier area and looking for sandy shores instead of pebbles. The river flowing into the ocean provides a nice option for those wanting to avoid the strong waves, especially if you have young children. The waves are perfect for boogie boarding and body surfing. I wish I had planned to spend the entire day there.
The weather was amazing on the day we drove here. It was a beautiful day in Hawkes Bay.
This beach is an amazing spot for freedom camping! It's situated right on a beautiful, untouched surf beach. It's peaceful and far from the noise of the road. There's a toilet block available on-site. Additionally, it's just a quick walk to the local service station, where you can find a variety of items, including coffee. If you take a short drive to Mahia township, you can enjoy a hike up the hill to a fantastic viewpoint. There's also a charming golf course nearby.
