This hidden beach is a true gem, offering an incredible experience as you explore its lively tide pools. Observing crabs, shrimp, and fish is simply delightful, and the stunning sunset makes it even more magical. Make sure to wear your tennis shoes, as the descent is significant, but the climb back up is even more challenging 🥹.
That place is great; it's not too crowded even in September, and the views and walks are amazing. Plus, it's easy to get to, making it an ideal spot for a day out.
Despite its idyllic town, beautiful waves, and good surfing conditions, Punta Hidalgo has seen a rise in unfriendly behavior from locals towards guest surfers. Even with absolute compliance to surf etiquette, visitors find themselves unwelcome and grumpily expelled from the spot. This is a great shame, as it takes away from the joy of surfing and the opportunity to experience the beauty of the location. The local surfers may benefit from having the waves to themselves for the time being, but in the long run, these attitudes will likely have a negative impact on the surrounding businesses. It is hoped that the locals will become more relaxed and tolerant, and that visitors will continue to demonstrate good surf etiquette. Unfortunately, this situation has caused me to change my plans and leave earlier than expected.
The waves were tumultuous, yet the scenery was delightful. The ocean was wild, but the sights were breathtaking.
On Christmas day, I ventured to the beach and it was a sight to behold! The sun was shining and the place was bustling with people. It had plenty of parking spots, toilets and a variety of activities to keep visitors entertained. It was a truly breathtaking experience, even if I was all the way from Scotland!
