This public beach was great, but parking was limited near the road. Unfortunately we didn't spot any public bathrooms, but there was a life guard tower. The beach had more rocks than sand, but the black sand and pebbles still made it enjoyable.
A great spot to visit - it's free and there are showers. There's also a restaurant close by where you can use the restroom and change. Beer and other drinks are cheap - no more than $3 - so you can stay all day if you like. You can buy food to go, or you can reserve a table the day before. A taxi from the Port terminal is about $8 or less. Our driver gave us a tour of the area for 1 hour for $40, which we got from across the terminal. We asked him if he could give us a tour and he said yes - 2 hours for $80, 1 hour for $40. It was a fantastic price for 3 people. We also loved learning about the history of that beautiful place.
That place may look inviting, but the water is far from clean. It's not a pleasant experience wading in the murky depths.
A beautiful sandy seashore with a great beach bar that offers free Wi-Fi - what more could you ask for? Whether you're looking for a place to relax or a spot to get some work done, this is the perfect destination.
