Mount Lavinia - all beaches

This beach is undoubtedly one of the most stunning in the entire country. Not only are there plenty of restaurants to choose from for a quick bite or a leisurely meal, but it's also just a short drive from the city, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing evening. Additionally, it's a romantic location for couples to stroll along the shoreline hand in hand. As an added bonus, I wanted to share some vintage photos of the area from 2011.

Undoubtedly, the beach boasts breathtaking beauty. However, the upkeep leaves much to be desired. The abundance of litter is a major eyesore and detracts from the overall appeal. Additionally, the lack of shoreline along the expanse makes it difficult to find a comfortable spot to relax and relish in the surroundings.

This is a great spot for taking a leisurely stroll and unwinding. Children can frolic on the lush grass and fly kites. It's also suitable for jogging and working out. However, it can get quite crowded on weekends. Additionally, there are a few snack vendors available.

This beach is an excellent spot for swimming, and the attentive beach guard is incredibly helpful. When we encountered a minor altercation with a local, the beach guard arrived promptly and ensured our safety. Additionally, the beach offers convenient shower facilities for a nominal fee of 50 LKR per person. However, the only drawback is the unfortunate practice of burning plastic.

This beach is undeniably one of the most impressive ones I've ever visited. The vast stretch of sand provides ample space for a leisurely stroll, allowing you to unwind and clear your thoughts. It is also an ideal spot for capturing stunning photographs, with its breathtaking views and picturesque scenery. One of the unique features of this beach is the sunken ship that lies in the middle of the sea, adding a touch of intrigue to the already mesmerizing landscape.
