The Lausanne area boasts the biggest sandy beach around. Due to limited parking, it's advisable to consider biking as a means of transportation if possible. The water near the shore is relatively shallow. A promenade stretches along the entire length of the beach, accompanied by amenities such as a restaurant, restrooms, and a small buvette offering refreshing drinks, snacks, and paninis.
The local beach is a favorite spot for our family, where our children and grandchildren used to swim. Now, the adults enjoy activities like swimming, paddle boarding, and parasailing.
The place is absolutely stunning, but it tends to get quite crowded. My suggestion would be to walk a bit further along the shore, where you'll find a park that offers an equally delightful experience for swimming and sunbathing on the grass.
This lakeside beach is quite lovely. It's small and tucked away, but it has enough grass and trees to offer some shaded spots. There's a covered grill area with a BBQ and a decent toilet. The river is right next to it, providing a nice option for shallow water activities. The only drawback is the limited parking spaces, making it harder to find a spot on a hot, sunny day.
