The beach is absolutely stunning. The water is crystal clear, and when you swim, you can easily spot the fish swimming near the surface. During the afternoon towards the evening, the waves can get quite choppy. However, in the early morning, it is simply breathtaking. While the natural beauty of the beach is undeniable, it's disheartening to see how some people litter. Please remember not to throw garbage into the water or on the shore. On Sundays, the beach tends to get very crowded since it's a public beach. You'll encounter all sorts of people, including some who even go into the sea wearing their pajamas and underwear. If possible, I recommend visiting on weekday mornings for a more enjoyable experience.
There is no menu displaying prices, and the waiter struggled to provide the prices of the dishes. The only thing the waiter could inform us about was the cost of the meze, starting from 50 liras for a small portion. The room is filled with smoke, and during winter, there is no service available on the terrace. They only offer fish and chicken dishes, no options for meat. As a result, we decided to go to a different establishment.
We booked the Safe Village Hotel through the Mersin Mountain Houses website, hoping for a boutique hotel experience. However, we were deeply disappointed. The food was of very poor quality, and we noticed that some things were likely broken. We were also surprised to find that the buffet charged for drinks during meals. The beach had rough waves, making it less than ideal for families with children. Fly spraying should have been done to ensure a more comfortable environment. The rooms were not clean and had a damp smell. The sheets were dirty and torn, and the air conditioners took a long time to cool down. Additionally, as we had a 10-month-old baby, we had requested a crib when making the reservation, as it was stated on the website that parking cribs were available. However, when we arrived, the staff kept us waiting and then the receptionist rudely informed us that they couldn't provide us with one. They wasted our entire day until evening, only to reject our request. The next morning, they left a dirty, rusty, and torn crib in front of our door, which was not safe for our baby. It was not suitable for sleeping, especially for a baby who hadn't started turning over yet. I will not return to this hotel, nor would I recommend it to others. If I hadn't stayed in much better hotels this summer for the same price, I probably wouldn't have written such a negative review. Unfortunately, they take your money and provide terrible service.
The local community seems to favor this particular beach, which is a convenient destination for families. Despite being a weekday, the beach was bustling with visitors. There are several shaded gazebos available for use, which can also serve as a makeshift canopy. Visitors can bring their own chairs and settle in for the day. However, there is a fee of 140 TL for gazebos that come equipped with three sunbeds, while those who prefer two sunbeds and an umbrella will be charged 60 TL. Enjoy your vacation!
