Latest reviews on Norton's beaches

Rook cliff

This stoney beach is absolutely stunning, and the sea is remarkably clean. I highly recommend visiting this area of Milford on Sea.

Compton Beach

This beach is undoubtedly one of the most stunning on the island, boasting breathtaking views of the cliffs and sea. Despite its easy accessibility, it remains relatively secluded, making it a peaceful and serene spot to unwind. The car park operates on a pay and display basis, with cash or app payments accepted. The beach itself is a sight to behold, with soft, sandy shores and ample opportunities for fossil hunting. Visitors can also marvel at the Dino footprints, adding a unique touch to the experience. Dog owners will be pleased to know that their furry friends are welcome all year round south of the steps. However, it's worth noting that there are no bins on the beach, except for a dog bin located near the free toilets at the top. Overall, this beach comes highly recommended for its natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere.

Freshwater Bay

This beach is absolutely amazing, with its large waves, iconic coastlines, and numerous spots to explore and admire the crashing waves or skip stones. Additionally, there is a convenient bus cafe and easy access to coastal trails, allowing visitors to enjoy the most breathtaking views from the cliffs.

Alum Bay Beach

This beach is truly breathtaking. I had a wonderful time taking a boat ride to the Needles. I would definitely go back again. I highly recommend it.

Colwell Bay Beach
10 Zate

The beach can be reached from Colwell Bay, particularly during low tide, which serves as a convenient shortcut for those who are hiking along the coastal path.

Fort Victoria Beach

When you visit this beach, it's a great idea to bring your own food and plan for a picnic. You can take a leisurely stroll along the coastline while enjoying the soothing sounds of the sea crashing against the rocks and sand. There is a coastal path that you can explore, but be aware that it can be uneven and muddy, so it's important to wear appropriate footwear. However, the coastal walk offers the most stunning views of the sea. If the weather is sunny, you can easily spend an entire day here, so be sure to pack plenty of food, drinks, and even some refreshing juices. Please note that swimming is not allowed at this beach, but there are toilets available in the coffee shop area. Additionally, there is free parking for cars.
