Shingle Street

This charming spot is a perfect destination for introspection and contemplation. The image captures an impressive row of more than 20,000 whelk shells extending towards the ocean, which were originally arranged by two cancer-stricken women to symbolize their journey through life's highs and lows. As time passed, others have contributed to the display, and it's said that a brief film has been created about it.

This seaside location is a delightful spot to take a leisurely stroll. There are a few exceptional coffee shops and the ice cream near the pier is absolutely divine. Don't forget to venture further down the beach to the right of the pier where you'll find a bit of sand to sink your toes into. There are also some fun attractions for young children and gaming machines that even adults can enjoy. Additionally, you'll be pleased to know that there is free parking available nearby.

This stretch of sand and natural beauty is an absolute must-see, even if you happen to visit during the off-season. Whether you're in the mood for a leisurely stroll or simply seeking some much-needed R&R, this beach has got you covered. The only downside? It's a shame that not a single cafe was open come late September. We could have really used a caffeine boost to fully appreciate this idyllic spot. Alas, such is life.
