St Dogmaels - all beaches

Upon the recommendation of a friend, my family and I stumbled upon a hidden gem of a beach during the final days of our Welsh holiday. The descriptions we had heard beforehand paled in comparison to the breathtaking beauty that greeted us upon arrival. While my wife and mother-in-law enjoyed the views from the nearby cafe, my daughter and I eagerly made our way down to the sandy shores. We spent a blissful two hours soaking up the sun and splashing in the waves. But it was the climb back up the hill that truly took our breath away. The panoramic vista of the bay was simply awe-inspiring, and the quaint church nestled amidst the landscape added an extra touch of charm to the already picturesque scene. Needless to say, we will definitely be returning to this spot if we have the chance to explore this part of Wales again.

This beach is flanked by rocky outcrops on either side, with a pristine sandy stretch in the middle. The crystal-clear waters are perfect for a refreshing swim, and don't worry about the occasional small boat - simply use a tow float to stay safe. During our stay, we were lucky enough to spot dolphins frolicking in the waves from this very beach. There's a quaint little cafe on site, although we didn't get a chance to try it out. The only downside is that parking can be a bit of a hassle, as you'll need to leave your car at the top of a hill. However, if you're staying in the area, it's definitely worth the picturesque walk down to this gorgeous beach. Plus, there are free toilets and a shower available for your convenience. Overall, this beach is a must-visit for anyone looking for a peaceful and idyllic seaside experience.

This beach is fantastic, with the added bonus of rocks to jump off of. I've visited multiple times and have been lucky enough to see dolphins swimming in the water. However, it's important to be cautious of a rip tide on the right side of the beach.

This beach is truly splendid and conveniently accessible from the carpark. For those who prefer to park directly on the beach, that option is also available. A delightful café is situated nearby, offering a selection of hot beverages, scrumptious cakes, sandwiches and crisps. They also stock wetsuits, buckets and spades, as well as other beach essentials. The restrooms are clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable experience for all visitors.

The beach offers an endless expanse of stunning sand that stretches out as far as the eye can see. A delightful visitor shop offers a wide selection of delectable ice creams, while the RNLI center provides an added layer of safety and security. During peak seasons, the car park can get a little crowded, but this is a minor inconvenience. It's worth noting that phone coverage can be spotty for O2 users, so be sure to bring some change for the parking meters. Overall, my family of five had a wonderful time here and left feeling very content.
