We came to this beach with the intention of collecting shells, but unfortunately, there weren't a lot to be found. The beach itself is pleasant, although the shell count is quite low. I'm not sure if this is always the case, but we had more success at Bowman's and Lighthouse Point. On the bright side, the parking payment covers all the beaches on Sanibel and Captiva, and the phone app functions smoothly.

We absolutely adore Vanderbilt Beach. Frequently, we bring our lawn chairs and spend delightful evenings there, relishing the beach and eagerly anticipating the breathtaking sunset. Additionally, there is a convenient parking garage and restrooms located just a few steps away, making it a highly sought-after beach access point.

Today, I visited the beach with my family to spend a pleasant day. Although the location is pleasant, the quality of the food and service left much to be desired. Particularly, there was a male cashier who displayed rudeness and insisted on receiving a tip with an unpleasant attitude. When I ordered the blackened fish, it was overwhelmingly salty, and the accompanying fries were overcooked. Despite this, I believe the place has potential to improve with a skilled chef and better service.

Vegetation has been eradicated, depriving beach visitors of adequate shade. Abundant seaweed lines the shore. A few scattered debris can be found on the beach. The water is perfect for children, and parking is conveniently located near the beach. However, the $6 parking fee and mandatory app download are unpopular among visitors. The highlight of the experience is watching the sunset, as the beach is tranquil and the sunset is truly breathtaking. I have upgraded my original 4-star rating to 5 stars!
