Fort island beach

This beach is a charming little spot with soft sand. It's quite small, only taking about two minutes to walk from one end to the other. The water isn't crystal clear, and at times, you may find some weeds along the shoreline. There are five single picnic tables and two double picnic tables, all of which are covered. Additionally, there is another covered area where there should be an additional picnic table. These covered areas are situated on concrete slabs. Restrooms are available for visitors. Towards the northern end of the beach, there is a short boardwalk that meanders through the trees and leads to the Roger Batchelor Pier. It's a delightful local beach, especially suitable for children, as there are no hazardous rip tides or sudden drop-offs. Unfortunately, it's disheartening to see that some thoughtless individuals leave their trash behind.

The food was fantastic, and I must say that the peanut butter pie was the most delicious I have ever had.

The beach was pleasantly uncrowded, and its size exceeded my initial expectations. It was possible to access the beach with a 4x4 vehicle, which added to the convenience. However, parking options were somewhat limited.

St. Johns Pier beach

The fishing pier at this beach is exceptional, boasting a prime location that is easily accessible. During our brief stay, we observed numerous individuals catching a diverse range of fish. The sunrises here are breathtakingly beautiful. Additionally, there are a plethora of breakfast options available at nearby restaurants. As we stood on the pier, we were delighted to see schools of dolphins swimming just off the coast, and groups of surfers on either side. The rates for this experience are reasonable, and we were pleased to find ample free parking in the lot directly in front of the pier.

Whenever I'm forced to visit my family in Florida, I dread the thought of coming to this beach. Sure, the sunset may be beautiful, but what's the point when the rest of the beach is so overcrowded? The sand is dirty and the constant sound of barking dogs is enough to drive anyone insane. Sure, there's plenty of room to run around, but who wants to share their space with a bunch of strangers and their furry friends? And don't even get me started on the shells. Sure, they may be pretty, but they're just a reminder of how polluted our oceans have become. And let's not forget about the discomfort of walking on the sand without shoes. The pain is unbearable and not worth the hassle.

We brought our old staffie to the beach for the first time. Unfortunately, we lost our Husky on December 15th due to a heart condition, and he never got the chance to experience the beach. I was determined to make sure our staffie didn't miss out on it. She was curious and enjoyed feeling the water on her feet, but she was especially eager to play with the other dogs there. She also misses her furry family member. We spent a couple of hours simply soaking in the last rays of the sun, listening to the soothing sound of the waves, and admiring the beauty of the vast ocean and blue sky. It turned out to be a lovely afternoon trip. 😍
