Ka Lae O Kaiwa Beach

As many others have mentioned, accessing this beach is not easy! However, it is undeniably one of the most stunning and secluded beaches in the world! To locate this beach, I received directions from a local guide whom I hired to show my family and me around the island. Initially, I had doubts because his instructions began with, "the entrance to the path leading to the beach is through a locked gate followed by a sign with skull and crossbones." After a 20-minute hike through a dense path lined with trees, occasionally just inches away from a rocky cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, we were greeted by a breathtaking sandy beach surrounded by lush greenery. While the beach itself was incredible, the tranquility and seclusion we experienced as the only ones there made the hike completely worthwhile. Visiting this beach was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our trip, and I have made a personal commitment that when I plan my next trip to Kauai, I absolutely must find a way to rent a home as close to this beach as possible, or alternatively, a boat that can be anchored in its bay.

This sandy haven is a sight to behold, boasting crystal-clear waters that will make you want to dive right in. It's the perfect spot to unwind and let your worries drift away. I can't recommend it enough - it's a must-visit for anyone seeking a little slice of paradise.

This beach is fantastic for snorkeling, but the rocks can be quite slippery. Despite being quite crowded, it's still an amazing spot. We were lucky enough to spot some spectacular turtles here, and there's a team of people dedicated to keeping them safe. They've even set up a half circle in the sand and cones to ensure people don't get too close.

The beach is a good spot to catch the sunset or get some sun, but the water can be quite rough. I noticed some people scaling the cliff to jump off, but it seemed risky. It's situated directly behind the Grand Hyatt, so many of their guests were present. During my visit, I was fortunate enough to see a monk seal resting on the beach, which was a pleasant surprise.

There is a large amount of driftwood on the beach, and there is an elderly little person wearing a yellow hat who can entertain you with humorous jokes.

This charming beach is small in size but big on beauty. I had the pleasure of spotting turtles and basking in the warm sun while taking refreshing dips in the water. Finding parking was a breeze, though I did miss having access to showers and bathrooms. The only drawback was the number of rocks in the water that could potentially be stepped on, but it certainly didn't detract from the overall experience!
