Loch Arbour Beach

We had a large group that arrived for a beach memorial this morning and the shed to accept payment was closed. After the memorial we were set up in a long line. One of the staff walked past all 30 of us and proceed to ask the ONLY black person in our group if they had paid. It was a blatant racism and completely disrespectful. The manager sent the employee home and then, rather than addressing the issue with us, asked us to pay!!!!! We would all happily pay, but not after that. People of color, beware of the staff and management at this beach!!

This is hands down the best family beach in New Jersey. The water and sand are both clean and pleasant. What sets this beach apart is the abundance of sand, without any pesky pebbles that can hurt your feet. The water is shallow enough to have fun and swim without suddenly getting too deep. Additionally, there are two spacious pavilions available. While parking is free, it can be challenging to find a spot on busy days. The beach fee for adults is $12. Keep in mind that there are no changing rooms, so you'll need to use the restrooms to change your clothes. It's important to note that coolers are not allowed. Overall, this beach offers a fantastic experience.

This beach is a stunning location to witness the perfect sunrise! The boardwalk and water are pristine and unspoiled, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere. 💗 For the ultimate experience, arrive an hour before sunrise and bask in the breathtaking beauty of the sun's first rays. It's advisable to bring a jacket as the temperature can drop unexpectedly. During my visit, the beach was relatively quiet, as most people prefer to stay in bed during sunrise hours! 😅 If you plan on taking a dip, don't forget to bring extra clothes and a towel, as well as a bag to store your wet items.

I have a deep affection for this beach. For two consecutive years, I have made a weekend trip from upstate New York to this charming, serene and immaculate town. The beach itself is meticulously maintained and the entrance fee is a reasonable $9 for those aged 12 and over, while children 11 and under can enjoy it for free. There is a restroom and first aid station conveniently located near the entrance on Main Street. During the weekend, you may need to park a few blocks away on a residential street due to the high volume of visitors. The beach is mostly surrounded by houses, with only a few small businesses such as an arcade, ice cream shop and restaurant. The only drawback is the lack of changing rooms and the women's restroom which only has 4 stalls. However, as a mother of three with a long drive ahead, I managed to take turns with my children to change out of our swimsuits before the drive home. This minor inconvenience was well worth it, as this beach is peaceful, spotless and ideal for families.

This charming coastal town boasts a fascinating and distinctive history that's well worth delving into before your visit. Doing so will deepen your appreciation for all that it has to offer. On a mild February day, a trip to the beach was just the thing to lift my spirits. I was pleasantly surprised by the pristine condition of the shoreline, especially considering the time of year. And with fewer people around, I was able to fully bask in the beauty of the surroundings. All in all, this is a truly exceptional destination that I highly recommend experiencing for yourself.
