Rhode Island - all beaches

This was my first visit here. After reading reviews, I decided to try a new beach. However, there's only one road leading in, which gets heavily congested. We waited in line for over an hour and arrived at the front gate parking area at 10:20, only to be told by a rather unpleasant police officer that we had to turn around because he had just let the last car in. We explained that we weren't from the area and asked for a quick recommendation for other beaches since we had driven over an hour, but he wasn't helpful. We turned around and went the opposite way of what he suggested and found Captain Jack's parking lot, which charged $20 for the day and was only a 0.5-mile walk from the beach. The beach itself is beautiful, perfect for those who love waves and swimming. The bathhouses and bathroom area were clean, and the pavilion area offers Del's Lemonade. If you enjoy fishing, this is a great spot, as many people were walking down the rocks. The ocean floor had soft sand and wasn't filled with shells or rocks, just a bit of seaweed but still beautiful. Make sure to check the hours of operation for the bathhouses as they do close. Definitely plan to arrive early to avoid the lot being full—around 8 AM for the 8:30 AM opening.

This beach is truly one of the most remarkable ones I have ever visited! The parking area was quite spacious, accommodating a large number of vehicles. Although there were some rocks, they were not as abundant as other beaches, allowing for leisurely strolls along the shore. I came across a variety of rocks, each with unique shapes and sizes that I had never seen before. Despite the chilly water, the waves were absolutely magnificent. Our stop in Middletown after leaving Newport was well worth it, as we were greeted with a picturesque location of tranquil dunes and crashing waves. Upon arrival, we noticed some guidelines posted near the entrance, although they appeared to be more of a minor inconvenience than a problem. Overall, this destination is definitely worth the drive!

The Watch Hill beach is undoubtedly a breathtaking sight to behold and is considered the most stunning beach in the state. The beach boasts of rolling dunes adorned with the sweet fragrance of beach roses and is surrounded by crystal-clear blue waters. The cherry on top of this paradise is the Napatree point conservation area, which adds to the beach's charm. During summers, visitors may have to pay for parking or walk a little, but the experience is worth every penny spent on this ocean state gem.
