Located in the southern part of Heraklion prefecture, this beach is situated in a remote area, far away from civilization. Despite the challenging road conditions, it is still accessible by a regular car. Although not visible from the road, this beach provides a serene and secluded atmosphere, even during the busy summer season.
This untouched beach is devoid of any human interference, offering a pristine environment. The sea is crystal clear with a tranquil and calm demeanor. Towards the west, there is a rocky slab, which gives the beach its name, and it is covered in sea urchins, making it quite slippery. Therefore, caution is necessary while navigating this area.
Apart from the rocky slab, the rest of the beach is obstacle-free, except for the rocky seabed. The coastline is composed of coarse pebbles, making it challenging to walk on.
It is highly recommended to take a swim towards the cave located to the west of the coast. Additionally, on the beach, there is a small rock roof that provides natural shade.
