This resort is absolutely stunning with beautiful rooms located right on the beach. However, it is starting to show signs of wear and tear and does not meet the high standards we had in mind given its hefty price tag. Our stay in a deluxe ocean front room, which cost over $2,000 per night, was mostly satisfactory. There were some minor inconveniences like a faulty light switch in the bathroom and an air conditioner controller that didn't work properly. The butler service, which was supposed to address these issues, was lacking and slow to assist us, often redirecting us to the front desk. The biggest disappointment, though, was the food service. The bar offered a limited and unexciting selection of fried foods, and the service was inattentive, requiring us to constantly seek refills or ask for the check. The upscale restaurant on the upper floor was the only decent option for a meal, but it was excessively priced for the quality it delivered. However, the most disheartening experience was the outdoor breakfast restaurant by the pool. It was infested with birds that would attack every table, leaving droppings all over the chairs and tables, and the staff seemed indifferent to their presence. We have encountered this issue at lower-end resorts before, but we expected better from a higher-end establishment like the St. Regis, especially considering our positive experiences at their other properties. It was truly appalling.
All things considered, we have decided that we will not be returning to this resort as it simply did not meet our expectations.
