Orient - all beaches

This shoreline boasts unparalleled beauty, yet regrettably, it is exclusive to local residents. I had eagerly made the journey from my home in Queens to bask in the seaside scenery, only to be halted by a police vehicle patrolling the parking lot, scrutinizing non-resident vehicles. The area is clearly under surveillance, and I cannot fathom why such a magnificent beach would be restricted to a select few. How I wish I had known of this limitation prior to embarking on my journey. Save yourself the trouble and seek out a beach more accessible to all.

Upon arriving at Shelter Island, I was unfortunately stopped by the police who were checking vehicles. While I waited for my little errand to be completed, I decided to take a stroll along the beach. Despite the beautiful scenery and peaceful atmosphere, my experience was soured by receiving a $100 ticket. It's disheartening to see how the natural beauty of the beaches are being exploited for monetary gain. Perhaps implementing a payment system for visitors would be a fair compromise, but it seems as though the authorities are not concerned with the well-being of their guests.

This serene beach boasts vigilant lifeguards and well-maintained restrooms in close proximity. However, the beach terrain is slightly uneven with scattered rocks, making it a tad challenging to walk barefoot. It's advisable to wear flip flops or water sandals to ensure a comfortable stroll along the shore.

This is a fantastic location with the refreshing ocean on both sides. The beach is adorned with an array of charming small shells and fascinating rocks that add to its natural beauty.
