Located on the southern coast of Mannar Island, this beach offers a picturesque view and ample space for recreational activities. However, visitors should be more responsible in keeping the area clean and orderly. While there is a small boutique shop for snacks, the washrooms and changing area are not well-maintained. Despite these minor drawbacks, the beach is an ideal destination for families looking to enjoy a sandy shore that spans 30 meters wide. The sea is shallow for the first 10 meters, with a maximum depth of only 2 meters, making it perfect for swimming enthusiasts. Additionally, the beach boasts a variety of sea shells to discover and admire.

Although we faced some difficulty locating the beach, the effort was certainly worth it. The stunningly clear waters and pristine beaches, free from any garbage or debris, were a sight to behold.

Arriving at the beach on our bicycles, we took the Thavalpadu-Mannar road instead of the sea side route. The ocean was incredibly tranquil, making for a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. There were convenient huts available for changing, as well as a nearby shop for any necessities. For those interested, there are also places in the vicinity where one can enjoy freshly made Palmyra toddy.

This particular beach in Mannar is renowned for its beauty and allure. Private vehicles have easy access to the beach via the road. However, those who choose to travel by public transport will need to walk a distance of about 500m to 1km from Keri bus stand. Visitors can purchase snacks and water bottles from the shop located on the beach. Additionally, there are clean and well-maintained bathroom facilities available with good quality water.
